Education:

Dr. Leila Khatouri earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in May 2016, following her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from the University of Virginia. She has been an active member of the APTA since 2013. Dr. Khatouri completed the Orthopedic Residency Program at TJC in 2019, earning her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification. She has since pursued advanced training in Pelvic Health, completing several certification courses through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute. She now leads the pelvic health program for TJC based on her expertise and teaching/mentoring skills.

Professional Role & Specialties:

As a Pelvic Health and Orthopedic Specialist at TJC Concierge, Dr. Khatouri offers expert care in both musculoskeletal rehabilitation and pelvic health. She enjoys treating a wide range of orthopedic injuries and post-operative conditions in patients of all ages, ensuring they recover and regain strength to return to active lives. Her specialty in pelvic health focuses on women’s health, particularly in the areas of pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and ongoing pelvic health through the lifespan. Dr. Khatouri is passionate about helping women manage pain, incontinence, and exercise limitations, empowering them to stay active and pain-free.

 Fun Facts:

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Khatouri is an avid volleyball player, having played on the club volleyball team at UVA and continuing to enjoy the sport in her free time. She also loves spending time with friends and family, supporting the University of Virginia basketball team, and enjoying the beach.

This advanced residency equipped her with extensive knowledge and skills in treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions, with an emphasis on manual therapy and a holistic approach to patient care.

In addition to her orthopedic specialization, Madalyn is a skilled pelvic floor physical therapist. She is passionate about supporting individuals during pregnancy and postpartum, empowering them to achieve their health and wellness goals. Through training from the Herman & Wallace Institute, she effectively treats urinary, bowel, and sexual dysfunction, as well as chronic pelvic pain.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Madalyn enjoys leading an active lifestyle. She loves hiking with her husband, strength training at the gym, and participating in Pilates classes.
